HOUSE TO-DO LIST

  • Demo ALL THINGS!
  • Get a surveyor to come and mark our property lines
  • Fence in a portion of the property
  • Grade the front of the house and lay rock 
  • Paint the interior walls
  • Paint the exterior, walls, window/door trim
  • New front door, exterior painted red
  • Re-work kitchen cabinets to fit new full-sized dishwasher
  • Install new kitchen appliances
  • Clean and possibly repaint the existing oven hood (we ended up buying a new hood, I didn't realize how inexpensive they were!)
  • Kitchen cabinets: degrease, paint and wax, install new hardware and hinges on doors and drawers
  • Install new counter tops
  • Sand and seal counter tops
  • Install new kitchen sink and faucet
  • Tile kitchen backsplash
  • Install open shelving below the upper cabinets that we raised
  • Install open shelving where we removed the corner cabinet in kitchen
  • Install new pedestal sink and faucet in bathroom
  • Move existing toilet and bathtub waste pipe rough-ins
  • Install new toilet
  • Frame a wall for new drop-in bathtub, install bathtub.
  • Tile bathtub including tub front and walls
  • Tile bathroom floors
  • Patch holes in walls and texture
  • New doors for both bedrooms and bathroom
  • Repaint trim on all new doors
  • Replace all electrical outlets and switches with new, white covers
  • Pass our 203k loan inspection and get our contractors paid (we passed on Monday!)
  • Add crown molding to the tops of the upper kitchen cabinets
  • Install leftover butcher block as a window sill for the kitchen window (decided we aren't going to do this anymore since our kitchen sink faucet is kind of in the way)
  • Install a larger window sill for the bathroom window with leftover butcher block
  • Design, build and install shelving for the three closets in the house
  • Install doors for the three closets
  • Install ceiling fan in living room, ceiling fans in bedrooms and new light fixtures throughout the house
  • Design and build a frame for our bed
  • Design and build a temporary shelter for our goats (more to come on this later)
  • Fence in the goat pasture
  • Paint and install baseboards
