But as promised, I'm going to post some pictures of our finished bathroom and semi-finished kitchen. So with our bathroom (as with the entire house) we still need to do the baseboards and I also have plans for an cooler, bigger window seal... but other than that, our bathroom is done, construction wise. I still have a lot of decorating to do, and actually, these pictures aren't even accurate to what the bathroom looks like currently. Since I took these photos
we bought some shelving/storage and I was finally able to unpack most of our bathroom toiletries and such. I will do another post for the bathroom once it is completely finished and I have my shelving a little more organized.
As for the kitchen, we still have a few major projects before it is complete. There is the back splash... we have ordered the tile and once it arrives, I'm hoping we can get that finished over a few evenings after work. Then once the back splash is finished we can install the open shelving. And then finally, once we have the shelving up, I can actually finish unpacking our kitchen and that will be a glorious day. But for now, the kitchen is still looking pretty good... I finished re-waxing the upper cabinets and we put the doors back on, we've finally been able to cook a few meals and the counter tops are holding up great! My favorite part about the kitchen so far are definitely the counter tops and the lower cabinets, I still am in love with the gray!
Had to get an action shot... this is what it's like trying to cook in our kitchen, dogs always under foot.
So yeah, there is still a lot of work to be done, but it's still nice to have a functioning house... we are just starting to feel comfortable and at home. It's all about being able to take a hot shower and cook a meal (and having happy pups)!
But in other news... our goat journey has officially begun! Last weekend we trekked to Loomis, to visit Haedhrun goat farm and picked out two precious Nigerian Dwarf doelings. Introducing Willow (left) and Sage (right)... we get to pick them up as soon as we are ready for them, and we will also be bringing home a wether (a fixed male) shortly after.
This is looking at where the house will be
Daryl (our truck), I thought we didn't need this thing at first, but he has been vital these past 3 months.
Saturday morning, my dad was up at our house bright and early and the guys got started on building the frame for the actual goat house. I got to sleep in a little, which was amazing, and the first couple of photos were taken while I drank coffee on the deck and watched them start building the first wall.
By the end of the day, the complete frame was built...
Cutting down branches
Bringing the walls over the railing, down to the pasture
One wall up!
So we are getting there... and soon we will be to a point where we will have a real living room and maybe even cable tv! Hopefully I can post some updates on the goat situation really soon cause we are moving fast! Until then, this weeks home remodel heroes are my dear husband, my pops and our Ramon... thanks guys!
